August's game and site issues
So we've figured out that we want to play on August the 18th, which is a Saturday...but we haven't nailed down the location yet.
Katie has offered in the past to use the farm for the cookout again, is that still viable Katie?
If not we'll have to figure out something else, though I know there have been like 3 other offers on the table as well.
Thoughts?
Also we might have to find a new place to play on a regular basis once the weather gets cold.
The Cathedral of Learning is still in lock down mode, and they don't let people in without Pitt IDs after a certain time.
It's not effecting us right now, since we play outside on the terrace, but once it gets cold it could be an issue.
Who knows, they may lax security by then, these sorts of things come and go, but just in case I'd like us to start discussing a permanent backup site...that isn't someone's house.

My Dad's place is still an option, although that is a busy weekend for me, so I may not be able to prep the place. Can we revisit those other offers and see what works best for everybody?
As for other locations - are there local libraries or community centers that will rent rooms cheaply? Perhaps if we all pitch 2$ or something like that we can get a nice, regular indoor space?
Thanks!

Re: August's game and site issues
I also know that some of our college student players who live alittle out of the ways haven't been able to make it to our summer games due to being at home.
If you guys need rides to August's game, please let us know. I'm sure rides can be arranged for everyone! I understand that the cookout games are sometimes out of the way for some people, since we look for places we can do fire pits and be loud in the woods.
But don't let that discourage you, there are plenty of people willing to give the carless folks rides.

Re: August's game and site issues
We are definately able to use my aunts property with a couple of Conditions. If we make a mess we clean it up, no underage drinking, Don't be uber loud, and if we could be wrapped up by 1am she would apprciate it. There is unfortunatly no crash space, so no getting too drunk.

Re: August's game and site issues
The closest address that a GPS will recognize is 119 Armstrong road Leechburg pa 15656. But that doesn't matter because once you're on Armstrong Rd all you have to do is look for the Big Red Steel mailbox, its a very small rd and you cant miss the mailbox. If anyone comes from around the freeport bridge, your gps is going to go batshit crazy with all the road work, just following the sign to go towards leechburg and you'll be fine

Challenge accepted. My GPS is amazing, like you have no idea. It took me to Katie's no problem. What's the exact address?

the actual address is 119 Briggs Lane leechburg pa 15656. Most gps units don't recognize Briggs Lane because it's just a driveway.

Re: August's game and site issues
We will be shooting for 4.
We want to have a round table discussion before game, and a computer will be setup with a printer so that we can update sheets and print them out right there.
then we should start playing by 5-5:30.

Re: August's game and site issues
Regarding food.
I know this is usually pot-luck. But for those of you who don't know, Katie's grandma passed away this week and the funeral was today. After the funeral there was a luncheon with A LOT of leftovers. So, in an effort to not waste any food, my fridge is now filled with 3 serving sized aluminum pans filled with Beef, Turkey, Pasta, and Potato Salad.
So when planning on what to bring, keep in mind that Katie and I are bringing all of that. I don't think it is enough for everyone to have a full dinner. But figured I would at least give everyone a heads up so we don't duplicate too much food.
